Aercon relies on SteriTouch® for antimicrobial product protection

Thorough hygiene and cleaning protocols are key to reduce the risk of microbial cross-contamination in critical environments.

Healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) and hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) are among the most common complications. With more pressure on healthcare services over recent years to reduce the numbers of HCAIs, it’s important to identify cost-effective options to complement existing hygiene protocols and reduce opportunities for microbial contamination.

One company that has recognized this is Aercon, which specializes in air pressure control. The UK business was founded more than 50 years ago and today a division of the Power Utilities Group, based in the West Midlands, Aercon design and manufacture pressure stabilizers and pressure valves which are used in hospitals and operating theatres, as well as pharmaceutical, electronic, manufacturing and clean room facilities.

SteriTouch®* antimicrobial product protection has been standard on all Aercon’s LF range of air pressure stabilizers for the last 15 years.

The antimicrobial powder coating effectively reduces the growth of microbes by up to 99.9%, allowing Aercon to provide products with the highest possible standards of hygiene.

Anita Wright from Aercon says: “We pride ourselves on our ability to evolve with changes in industry standards. Ensuring consistent and superior hygiene (unless the products are sterilized before use) in our products is a priority we have always recognized.”

She adds: “We understand the importance of clean air in critical situations, continuing to develop our air pressure control valves and stabilizers to suit a variety of applications. We care about quality, and we are committed to ensuring safety and optimal performance in healthcare applications.”

Damian Harvey from Polygiene comments: “Aercon rightly places hygiene as a top priority for their products, which play a vital role in healthcare environments. We are proud to partner with the company and pleased that they continue to rely on SteriTouch® for antimicrobial product protection.”

*Polygiene AB acquired the business related to SteriTouch in January 2022.
